Phone guide

Sign in to this site with your own PCOC on the phone app. Make that file first with the desktop guide. The app download is on Demonstrations. Screenshots for this guide are coming. More guides are on the Help page.

  1. What you need

An Android phone, the debug APK from Demonstrations, and the nsec you saved on the desktop.

You also need your own PCOC from the desktop guide. The phone stores that file. It does not use a published demo key. If you have no PCOC yet, make one on the desktop first.

  2. Install the APK

On Demonstrations, download the debug APK. Side-load only. It is not on the Play Store.

    1. Download the APK.
    2. Copy it onto the phone if you downloaded it on a computer.
    3. Open the APK.
    4. If Android asks, allow this source to install apps.
    5. Confirm the install, then open the app.

  3. Add your account

Open Accounts and press Add an existing account. On Sign In, press Paste Your Key and paste your own nsec, then press Sign In. Use the same nsec as the desktop hike. A new account from this app is a different key.

    • Nostr DM. After Send on the desktop, the phone shows PCOC .cbor DM received. Press Approve. Dismiss stores nothing.

  5. Open the Sign in page

On https://groundinglab.io/sign-in/, press Sign in with PCOC. The page shows a QR code. It lasts about two minutes. New code starts another one. Copy code is the same link, if the camera cannot scan it.

  8. Troubleshooting

    • Wrong file. Import PCOC says the file could not be read, and nothing was stored. Pick pcoc.cbor from the desktop data folder. A PCOC for a different login says This saved PCOC is for a different login. It was not sent.
    • Expired QR. The code lasts about two minutes. Press New code on the website and scan again. The phone can say Expired.
    • Not a sign-in link. The phone says That is not a sign-in link. Nothing was sent. Scan the QR from Sign in with PCOC on this site, or paste that same link. Press Scan again to retry.
Phone messages for a bad file, an expired code, and a value that is not a sign-in link.

No PCOC yet

The phone can say You need a PCOC first. Create one on this phone, or use Import PCOC. Make yours on the desktop, then come back to step 4.
